So, this guy in LA somehow has a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
No plates, so I'm assuming this is a track-only deal. Especially since it's roll-caged and all.
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

Sure looks like a re-bodied 350Z. Check out the V6 underhood and the obvious 350Z/G35 interior.
EDIT: I might have no clue what I'm talking about

Likely here under the show Show and Display law; that's how most R34s got here.

I thought the show and display exemption wouldn't apply to the R34, because too many were built.

It is here illegally. If the feds find it they'll crush it.

Actually most the R34's are illegal. The V-spec is on the list, but not actually eligible unless you conform it to epa standards.

Its still an inline 6 I believe. It's just the engine cover from the GTT model, so I'm pretty sure this isn't a GTR.

Even 'track-only' it's subject to seizure unless it's a motorex car that has been conformed.

I thought you could have it as a track car or something as long as you didn't drive it on the roads. That said, I have seen an R34 on the road in Chicago before.

It's a 2000?! STAY AWAY! It is illegal to import a car from overseas if it is less than 25 years old.

Isn't it only illegal if they actually try to register it for street use?

I think it would only be an issue if they use on the streets (as shown in the pictures)

"Under 49 U.S.C. § 30112(a), a person may not permanently import into the United States a motor vehicle manufactured after the date that an applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standard (FMVSS) takes effect unless the vehicle complies with the standard and is so certified by its original manufacturer. This prohibition applies to both new and used motor vehicles, but does not apply to motor vehicles that are at least 25 years old (based on the month and year of manufacture)."
"§ 30112. Prohibitions on manufacturing, selling, and importing noncomplying motor vehicles and equipment (a) GENERAL.—(1) Except as provided in this section, sections 30113 and 30114 of this title, and subchapter III of this chapter, a person may not manufacture for sale, sell, offer for sale, introduce or deliver for introduction in interstate commerce, or import into the United States, any motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment manufactured on or after the date an applicable motor vehicle safety standard prescribed under this chapter takes effect unless the vehicle or equipment complies with the standard and is covered by a certification issued under section 30115 of this title . "
US Government doesn't care what it's for or where it's driven.

so is it a 99 or 2000? In the description it says 1999 but everywhere else its listed as 2000. Something smells funny

No. It's illegal unless it's been crash tested and converted, has show and display exemption (which no GTR will ever get except a few Spec-Vs), is over 25 years old, or is here on temporary importation, which means it cannot be sold. Temporary importation also means it must be exported after 1 year of being in the US.
"§ 30112. Prohibitions on manufacturing, selling, and importing noncomplying motor vehicles and equipment (a) GENERAL.—(1) Except as provided in this section, sections 30113 and 30114 of this title, and subchapter III of this chapter, a person may not manufacture for sale, sell, offer for sale, introduce or deliver for introduction in interstate commerce, or import into the United States, any motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment manufactured on or after the date an applicable motor vehicle safety standard prescribed under this chapter takes effect unless the vehicle or equipment complies with the standard and is covered by a certification issued under section 30115 of this title. "
The 25 year rule extends to the actual import date of the vehicle, so you can't buy and stockpile JDM vehicles in the US until they are over 25 years old. This also means those R33s and R34s (and newer R32s) that are already in the US aren't grandfathered in once they're over 25 years old - the Feds have the ability to seize and crush them because, even though they would turn over 25 years old they were imported into the US before they were eligible.

ughh, fart can needs to go, air filter needs to go, STEERING WHEEL NEEDS TO GO.
Price is way too high. It costs just a hair under $2,000 to bring one of these over to Canada. No way it's legal down there, not worth the risk. - Especially for a car with only 280hp.
I don't understand the desire behind these. I found the R33 much prettier, and really as good of a car.

Looks pretty fake. The rear end looks legit, but the front end looks to short, and the headlights are a bit strange. Also, that doesn't look like an RB engine at all, looks like a V config. by the looks of it. Wheelbase also looks too long.
But then again it might just be a non-GTR, but I doubt it.
EDIT: Looking at some R34 engine bays, some of them have covers like that, so maybe not so fake? The front end and wheelbase are still giving me bad vibes...

Could be one of the Motorex cars, which were brought here legally.
